Module 3: Baby Sleep, Babywearing, Movement Development & Baby Safety As a new parent, you want to ensure that your baby is getting the best possible care. Our third module of the Fourth Trimester workshop is dedicated to helping you understand the critical aspects of your baby's sleep, movement, and safety. I.) All About Sleep: Understanding Your Baby's Sleep Patterns We'll start by discussing all things sleep, including how babies sleep and what is considered normal, along with practical strategies to help you maximize your own sleep as a new mom. We'll also explore the pros and cons of co-sleeping versus having your baby sleep alone. II.) Foundations of Babywearing and Swaddling Next, we'll dive into the basics of babywearing and swaddling. You'll learn about the benefits of babywearing and which babywearing products are suitable for a newborn. You'll even have the opportunity to try out different babywearing products to find the one that works best for you and your baby. We'll also cover how to properly swaddle your baby and the benefits of swaddling for sleep. III.) Movement Development: Encouraging Healthy Movement Milestones In the third section of this module, we'll explore movement development. You'll learn about the key milestones to watch out for and what parents can do to facilitate healthy movement development in their babies. IV.) Baby Safety: Keeping Your Little One Safe and Secure Finally, we'll cover baby safety, including how to hold a baby properly and dos and don'ts to keep your baby safe. We'll also discuss ways to reduce the risk of Sudden Death Syndrome (Crib death). By the end of this module, you'll feel confident in your understanding of infant sleep, babywearing, movement development, and baby safety. You'll have practical strategies to help both you and your baby get the rest you need, and the knowledge to facilitate healthy development.
